The Ukraine: A Good Place to Buy Camera Gear?

Haha. I loaned my F4 to a couple with a newborn last year. Still haven't gotten it back. 🙂

Good place for it to be in use at least 🙂

After I get my Elmar 50/2.8 (haze issues) back from a CLA by DAG, I do plan to buy one since they aren't that expensive and they've always seemed like the best "split the difference" between old tech & new in the Nikon world. My N90 gave up the ghost recently so I'm thinking this would be a good film companion for my D7100.

We have not relocated. We attempted to move to Poland but ultimately returned to Kyiv, Ukraine.

We are now operating as usual, and all the information on our website is up-to-date.
Welcome. As a Kiev 60 owner, and being a person with happy memories of a holiday in your city I wish you success and stability.

I've gotten some rare (I think! 🙂 stuff from the Ukraine. Recently a "Rubber Wheel" beautifully made to allow shooting 70mm film with no perforations. I bought several for my A70's and they just work.

The auction said Ukraine, but this 210mm F4.5 N-51 lens arrived yesterday $75 from Serbia. New in box never used, with working flange, I used shim washers inside the Plaubel Tubus. to adjust for perfect infinity focus wide open. The lens is a sleeper (some say a DUD), but I do like it a lot. A Tessar optical design, a lot like my Schneider Xenars in the "look through", a bit less contrasty though to my eye. Quite sharp and pleasant bokeh. I look forward to shooting with this one. Shown on my Plaubel Auto Makiflex #1, I also redid some of the light trapping front and back on this camera, it's all ready to go again.

I am delighted. A keeper!
