Interesting flare caused (I am reasonably sure) by the leaf shutter, as composing the image did not show any of the flare:

What have I learnt from all of this? That all lenses flare at some angle or some type of light.
Sometimes we have to accept that flare can be a phenomenon that can give character to a photo and is, again, sometimes desirable.
