The ultimate Nikon RF auction on daBay?

I've been at live auctions where there was an eBay tie-in but not the other way around.

Anyway, I found this one for you "players" out there: http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/32...ewItemQQcategoryZ28221QQitemZ6586773498QQrdZ1

Odd thing is that Tamarkin listed this on the general RF category but didn't also list it on the Nikon sub-category.

Anyway, for my fellow Nkonians and RF'ers, generally, who have much deeper pockets than I - enjoy.

My activity on this one is to just WATCH THE LISTING! 😀

Well, I'll be watching from the sidelines as well. Looking at the Serial Number, the production is not all that low. More than the 2.1cm F4 Nikkor in S-Mount, and more than the 25cm F4 manual Telephoto lens in S-Mount.

Bob Rotoloni's book "Nikon Rangefinder Camera" lists production numbers of most lenses. The 100cm lens listed on the auction looks like the 668th, Nikon usually started at 0 or 1 for the low order digits with the RF lenses.

I stumbled across a 25cm F4 manual lens with a N->F adapter in an antique mall. I was "happily surprised" to find only 600 were made. I did not pay anywhere NEAR this price!

Brian, I continue to be amazed at your ability to find great Nikon RF stuff in unlikely places (to say nothing of your knowledge in the area). You're an inspiration!

Where do you hang out, Brian? Nowhere in the antique stores in Northern Illinois have I seen equipment worth writing about. More often than not, it's very old, rusty folders with inoperative shutters... and, on very good days, long suffering Pentax K1000 kits! 🙂

But then you go and "stumble" upon black Canonets and Nikon RF lenses in these places...

Again, Brian... Inquiring minds want to know. 😉
