How about these? Digital point and shoot I'll admit, but I've seen DSLR photos in this thread already. Yes, mucho post processing on some.

Whitby Jet, Whitby, North Yorkshire par Sparrow ... Stewart Mcbride, on ipernity
... this jumped off the contact sheet, the fishing village has two things going for it Bram Stoker and Jet from the local beaches ... it was the pride on this chaps face as he headed out to sell his wares that caught my eye ... it was the geometry of it all, all the repetitive elements the squares and zig-zag lines coupled with the innocence of the chaps commercial intent that lead to me printing it

I just take snapshots, seldom thinking about it before hand ... then pick the pretty ones off the contact sheet, so what I do is more editing than anything else.
It's not, never been about 'art' or anything precious ... just snaps as mementos that happen to have been taken in an urban setting then selected to suite my designer aesthetics ... and it's difficult to reduce that to a single image
I did write this to explain my artistic point of view some time ago if that helps
I'd say my 'method' is about the same as yours... anything 'good' is found afterward in editing. I suspect that what I select as good is, over the years, modified by looking at the photography of others (here, in books, at galleries).

Victoria, Piccadilly, Manchester par Sparrow ... Stewart Mcbride, on ipernity
... I didn't remember taking this, but it stood out because of the juxtaposition of liner elements and the stark graphic of the Old Queen's silhouette with the simple humanity of the mother and daughter sharing food together ... that and it was a well exposed neg and in focus and I get so few of those

Hopefully this one will take the prize for most obvious cliche, apologies Stewart but it all seems to have gone nuts anyway

Oops, its even got a sh*tty faux border around it![]()

I can supply you with a crappy border to go with that, should you so desire...just to set it off nicely.

I think I may have gone off-scale on the cliché-o-meter when I posted this one earlier...

Perhaps you could post the crappy borders, and leave out the photos?
