The WideluxX is coming! New camera from Jeff Bridges

You're already at a disadvantage w 35mm film.....further cropping would give an even smaller negative to work with...
My S1R shoots at 26 megapixels in 65:24 mode. If I need more resolution I could use the high resolution mode on the S1R and get 103 megapixels after cropping to 65:24.

My fp L is about 39 megapixels in its 21:9 mode.

A 100 megapixel GFX is about 50 megapixels in 65:24 mode.

The blends from my 4 camera pano rig, that gives swing lens like perspective, end up around 30-40 megapixels.

If I want pano on film I can shoot a Kraken 617 which has about 9075 mm^2 of film area. Or a Kraken 624 with 12375 mm^2.

There are lots of choices. I worked with a 4x10" camera for some time.

I still wish I could shoot a X-Pan and a digital full frame camera with an appropriately equivalent lens to see what, if any, differences there might be.

The WideluxX is another story. The swing lens has to have an effect on the geometry of the image that a normal rectilinear lens cannot reproduce, much like panorama mode in a smartphone. X-Pan and Widelux images seem to have a sense of perspective that you just don't see in other cameras/lenses.
