Last week, there was a carnival in the parking lot of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The carnival lasted a little over a week, and I spent a couple of late nights there photographing it. This ride is called the Yo-Yo, because it pulls the riders up and down in cars suspended by wires from the lit-up arms of the ride.
Both photographs made with Leica M6, 35mm C-Biogon, Ilford Delta 3200 at EI-1600 developed in Tmax Developer 1+7 for 9.75 minutes at 75 degrees (24C). Handheld exposure of 1/15 at f8.

Thanks kdemas. I've gotten pretty good at holding down to 1/15 in low light.

Thanks Rob. Here's another photo from the same carnival. Very few people were there because the rides were EXPENSIVE. It was $5 per person per ride!!!
There were more cops than customers. These guys are all sheriff's deputies, there to provide security.

Great stuff, Chris. Thanks for sharing. I agree with the poster above: the Tilt-a-Whirl photo is nearly perfect.

chris, excellent photos. In this economy, they should not be gouging $5 per ride per person. Families with kids can't pay that much. Maybe $5 per ADULT and children ride free with them.

Hunt & Andy, thanks for the compliments. I had a lot of fun photographing this carnival. I have at least one more to scan from it that will be here soon!
I agree on the prices, but these things have been really overpriced for a long time. Even before the economy went bad, most people couldn't afford them.
