When I was very young, I remember thinking that If I could only make a living doing what I love (photography), then I would be in heaven. Well, almost 30 years later of making a living doing architectural photography, sometimes you learn you have to be careful what you wish for. When you are busy trying to pay the bills, sometimes the fun and passion of photography takes a back seat. So when that happens, I put away the 4x5, grab a small rangefinder camera, usually with one lens, head downtown and spend the day by myself. I'll stop and eat lunch, maybe stop later at a bar and have a beer, and in general just try to unwind. Sometimes I come away with some good shots, sometimes not. But what I always come away with is a feeling of renewal. I hope this makes sense.
