I finally found one of these and at a great price (about $50). It
is an Icarex 35S "TM" (thread mount), the M42 version of the
Icarex models and it's in nearly mint condition and fully working
with 50/1.8 CZ Ultron (concave front element). I found it in its
case with a half-shot roll of Kodacolor II inside so it's likely been
unused for decades.
Herr Gandy calls the Icarex TM the best M42 camera ever made
and I have to agree. It is a honey. Features I especially like are
meter readout on top as well as in VF, lovely diagonal split-image
focusing aid in the bright viewfinder, quiet operation (for a focal
plane SLR), wonderful heft and quality build all over.
