Which are the models that are better suited for RF gear ?

What are your experiences ?

The 'ChangeUp' model looks interesting, but it looks tall from pics. Anyone can verify ? the removable insert is useful, PLUS the feature that you can still velcro the partitions inside the empty bag. I thot this was a great idea that allows the bag to be collapsed/conformed to whatever bulk (camera gear plus stuff) you are carrying.

Are there models that are only as tall as the width of an RF ? , ie 200mm or so ...

Well, two weeks ago my wife surprised me with the Change Up as a gift. Previously I had been using a Naneu Pro Lima Military Ops and a Domke 803, both of which I liked well enough, but apparently I had complained about for reasons my wife picked up on.

Anyhow, the Change Up. I thought I might use the belt to carrying my bag, but that didn't really work with how I shot so much. Having to move the bag around on the subway, when crouching, taking it on and off, the belt wasn't really all that. I'm an incidental photographer, and the belt doesn't work well for that.

I had similar issues with the harness system. First of all, I though the harness would work well if I had a huge system and needed to equip myself with half a dozen of the modular bags around the belt and straps. But the Change Up isn't a large bag itself, so the harness system is a bit overkill unless I decided to load the bag with bars of gold instead of my ZI.

The Change Up insert system is fantastic. I really fit my ZI with lens attached, two other lenses, a small Metz flash, and a bunch of film. I liked how it carrying my kit a lot. But the deal killer was the shoulder strap.

The points the should straps connect when not using the belt are just 10 inches are so apart, which means the length of the straps are flush and tight against my body. The straps included with the Change Up are very narrow and not padded at all.

Plus, I simply disliked the idea of a bag that featuring three carrying systems, which were two more than I needed. And the one I did use, the should strap, wasn't very good.

But the bag quality was excellent. For someone else, the Change Up might be excellent.

So I returned it to Think Tank, who were very friendly. In exchange, I took the Urban Disguise 30, which is bigger than the Change Up, being twice as deep but not as wide. It works well for me, since I usually carry my camera and other stuff. Very pleased.

I share most of yr observations. I went to the local store and looked at the range offerred. What disappointed me most was the shoulder lugs. they are very near each other and NOT in the centre of the short side, ie closest to yr body.

I can't remember now but is there addtl lugs at the short sides ? Don't rember seeing any ...

The bag seems to be designed for cross shoulder harnessing.

The Urban Disguise range also look sgreat .
But how do you guys normally make use of these deep bags to contain yr RF gear? They are much too deep for RFs. I know they are designed for DSLRs.
