I've been using a Domke F-X5B for many years but I need another bag. I was thinking of getting the same again but it seems that the Retrospective 5 is similar and I was wondering if anyone has tried both and what the differences are?

the retro 5 is a bit roomier...the front pocket is a bit bigger and has the velcro tab to hold it closed.
the biggest difference is that the retro 5 has no zipper on top and therefore the opening is bigger and gear is so much easier to put in and take out as your shooting.
the strap is also longer on the retro 5.

All of what joes said correct. I bought one at the Focus on Imaging show (couldn't resist). The canvas material has a good feel and gets better with use as the display one showed. Mine fire the Xpro, 35mm with hood, CV 15 Heliar, Samyang 8mm, batteries, cards, Fuji X100 plus other bits. The Domke has its fans but I'd say this is a step up having more pockets and space without a massive increase in size. One to be recommended for street shooting/travel.

I have a Retrospective 5 and love it. It's, for me, the perfect size for 2 M bodies, a few lenses, and filters, etc. And it doesn't scream "camera bag."
