I just received my Turnstyle 10 today. I was browsing around the web and noticed someone reviewing this camera bag.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...+turnstyle+10&sprefix=Think+tank+turn,aps,239
Can be used
- over a shoulder
- sling bag
- fanny pack style
Haven't tried it in fanny pack style yet. It has a hidden pocket for the fanny packet attachment and the waterproof slip over.
There are three zipped compartments.
- back one designed to hold up to around a iPad mini
- front accessory
- the main camera compartment has
-- small pocket for sd cards and such
-- two moveable dividers
I was able to fit my
- Sony a7 w/ 35f2.8 fe attached
- Sigma DP2 Quattro w/ ovf and third party lens hood
- Sony rx100mk1
- 2 small rf lenses (vc 15 and 21)
-- If u use a bigger lens like the Sony 55f1.8 FE, I doubt u can have the 2 rf lenses and the rx100 in there.
Front had my lens cleaning stuff. Rear had my sd card case and kindle. The shoulder strap is nice and wide, easy to adjust.
Right now I think it will work out nicely.

Well-known
interesting. looks like an updated Sling 10 that they used to sell, and I own. my sling 10 has squarish ends, and at times is a bit bulky, but i have found it to be wonderfully handy for travel.

With or without a battery grip?

No battery grip. It is sitting flat at bottom. Maybe about 1-1.25 inches of headroom left. But it is in the tapper end. If I put it at the thicker end instead, then it has much more headroom. The dp2 Quattro is in middle and placed vertically. I took the rx100 out of the last compartment and I can put 3 lenses in there instead of 2 small rf lenses and the rx100. Right now I have
- canon rf 50f1.2
- vc 21
- Sony 35f2.8 fe
The A7 has enough room to have a short lens like Leica 35f2v4 or vc25 .. Longer lens like Konica 21/35 dual u need to place it in vertically instead but will still fit in tapered end. Right now I have the so-so 16-50 compact zoom on it. I tend to use that zoom on p&s type stuff.
The next biggest size is the 20 and is designed for a dslr kit. The 5 is the smallest.

So for an A7R with grip and FE 55 (plus a 28mm lens), I might be better off with a 20, yes?

Maybe.. I am not sure. The longer length of the 55 will force it to end up vertically. The battery pack/grip will definitely be a tight fit even if u put it in the thicker end...that is if it will fit at all. The 20 will definitely be the safer bet.

Just for grins -- I was able to put three different mirrorless camera bodies into the ThinkTank TurnStyle 10.
- Sony A7 w/ 35f2.8 FE
- Sigma DP2 Quattro w/ OVF and third party lens hood
- Panasonic GX7 w/ 12-32 Collapsible Zoom
Where the GX7 is located is where I had the three lenses that I mentioned before.
In reality, I would never have more than two cameras and 1 to 2 extra lenses at most. I just wanted to show how much it could really hold. A lot of people have complained that the DP2 Quattro body was too long to fit in their camera bags. So far at least w/ the bags I have tried, so long as I use a vertical orientation, I have not had any problems myself. My current plan is to always have the Quattro in the middle compartment. Where the Sony A7 is located will be the second camera (whatever I feel like carrying) or may have nothing. The gx7 location may or may not have any additional lenses depending on situation.
Where the velcro blue tab is located is the pocket for small items like SD card case or kindle even.
I use the rear most zippered pocket for my Kindle
Things like reading glasses, pens, and lens cleaning kit are in the front pocket.
Shot of the hidden pocket in the back. This is where the tab for the fanny pack mode is hidden along w/ the weatherproof cover.
The blue ribbon attaches the rain cover to red loop behind fanny pack adapter so it cannot be lost. It is attached via velcro so it can removed if one wants.
Close up of the fanny pack attachment point showing how the strap is attached after it has been moved.

The padding is thinner than what is on the Lowe Pro bags, but it is thick enough. The bag is a well thought out design.. I like it.

Warung Photo
Gary, thanks a lot for the pictures. It really helps visualize the physical space. How is the quattro? I handled it briefly and the ergonomics are just weird for me.
On another note, for 2 fuji bodies with larger lens (especially the 50-230mm and 10-24), the Turnstyle 20 is a must.

I really like the dp2 Quattro. I think u are either gonna hate it or like it because of the grip. Yeah.. If u plan for long lenses the next size (turnstyle 20) is a must. Though one body and a long lens should be ok.

Well.. Now that I have had t for a while now.. I can say I really like it. I used on vacation (Portland and Seattle). It has become my default bag. I have been to museums where they told me to check in my Timbuktu messenger bag, but they did not bother me w/ this smaller sling bag.
