Thinking about a new look for RFF

It looks fine the way it is. It is easy to get places and you get a good overvue without much scrolling around.

Some people over at the Leica forum were complaining about the look in your last post on the M8. You aren't gonna change because of them.?

Why change what works? The other model is acceptable, but i like the consolidated section right in the front when it is opened up.

I agree that I like the current colors. Always partial to black and white. Maybe give people the ability to control the colors themselves according to their own tastes. We cant do that now can we?

I would like to see a second user-selectable scheme that's dark on a light background, preferably white. I find that easier to read, plus it'd be less obvious at the office!

Just don't make it like the CameraCollector forum: blue, mauve, teal, purple - as if done by a colour blind designer! What are they thinking?

Another vote for the "office scheme": dark on white and the option to disable avatars would make it boss-proof 😉 😉 😉

yikes, Frank! Youre right about cameracollector forum colors. Cool site though otherwise, didnt know about that one.

I like this idea; very nicely put. I keep wondering why folks are looking over my shoulder...that said, though, I'm a fan of our current configuration.

Cheers,

By this time, I might as well be beating a dead horse, but I have to contribute with my 2 cents..

As FrankS pointed out, the current look of RFF is classy..and I also have to agree with Ricardo, when he says that the color scheme is very flattering to B&W pictures. Finally, as many have mentioned, it is very easy to read (for hours on end..I can vouch for that !).

I believe that ultimately, it's all a matter of making the visit of anybody on RFF as easy (on the eyes), informative, diverse, educational (threads) and sensorially fulfilling (both B&W and color photographies).

While I was developping my own website I had to remind myself about one thing: it's not about the colors or scheme - it is a matter of putting forward text information in a readable way and putting image information in a non-distracting environment (aka "KISS")..

And that's what RFF is today...

This is why I miss Bill. We both had the same type of color blindness. That site looks fine, Frank. You guys should let me pick the new site colors 😉
