So no need for a normal user to use these high end monitors?
I meant if I want to print for an exhibition some day?
...
I've printed and won recognition for several dozen exhibitions over the past decade. I've never used anything other than a standard monitor. The greatest technology in the world does not guarantee exhibition quality results.
One of the biggest fallacies in the camera world is that better equipment will always guarantee better photographs. It's just not true.

and I will use my new 3880, which space cover it?
I think it's somewhere in the ballpark of 80%-90% argb. Not sure though, but certain less than the Vaio Z's display.
I still suggest you try one out in person, though. It's a specialty laptop.

The Vaio will be more than enough with its 96% of ARGB and 100% of Srgb.
I think the point here is, if you are getting the best of the best, you need to make sure your entire workflow doesn't have weak links. Just as an example, I have a 99% Argb display. I calibrate it according to the light condition in my room. I bought two $300 LED lamps with adjustable color balance, so that I could move my monitor to another apartment and set it up right away, and work/examine my prints in neutral light. I also have a separate monitor that I calibrate for Srgb and only for Srgb space, which I use to check my digital-use copies.
If you pay the utmost attention to these things, the result can be rewarding. But as others have noted, you don't need the best monitor to make exhibition grade prints...You'll make better prints, but in the end it's the content that counts.

You're absolutely right and I think the less the more.
So I bought it and can't wait to have it, with that dock.
I'm going to sell the Macbook Pro from 2008 and the Eizo Monitor, more money for travels. I don't shot digital anymore, just 35 and 120, 80% in black and white.
Thanks guys!
