Thinking of buying a Zorki; which sellers are reputable on Ebay?

Bought a lens and Zorki-1D from Sovdepia from Ebay. I will report back with my experience! ($35 for Industar 26 and $80 for Zorki-1D)

well I've bought my Zorki 4k from Fedka and it was in perfect working order.
"ukrainian sellers" on ebay sells you a camera for a quarter the price of a Fedka camera. If you're willing to take the risk, at least you'll have 4 chances to buy a good one!
The seller Glenn wrote about is very interesting! Fedka sells cameras in perfect working order, but most of them aren't MINT looking................
This seller sells his cameras for the same price... and they LOOK awesome on the pictures! I'll try him for sure!

Still... I just bought a Kiev 4a from Fedka and I'm waiting for my payment to be processed... Next one will be a Fed! I love FSU cameras! When they are well serviced they're simply a joy to use!

Hi Sylvester,

Yes, Andrey's cameras are certainly in beautiful condition, and he sees to it that everything is thoroughly CLA'd and ready to perform just like new. I like that he even backs up his work with a three month full warranty; almost unheard of for half-century old cameras! (he will even pay to have it shipped back)

My Zorki 4 arrived in this week's mail, and it is indeed every bit as mint as my FED 2. Not a flaw to be found anywhere, the curtains are pristine, and the Industar 61 looks to be brand new. It's a joy to hold. I can hardly wait to start shooting with it. I believe I paid $80, including the shipping to Canada. (The FED 2(D6) was about the same price)

Which seller is this now you are talking about? I'm getting confused.

Reporting back.

The dealer Sovpedia was great to deal with. The packaging although wasn't the greatest. He used boxes from like a hair treatment box with newspaper to pack the body and lens (Zorki 1D and Industar 26M) separately and used a padded envelope. However, the camera and lens came in one piece.

The camera took some toothpicks, and q-tips to make it look almost unused condition at least externally and it was $80. (I'm talking with shipping) and everything functioned correctly to my knowledge. The lens had some grime and wear on the metal hardware, but the glass was in good condition.

When I setup an object to 1 meter and tested it with the lens i've received, only thing I had to change was the vertical alignment JUST a tad. Other functions work just fine.

The camera also took up my noobiness and I didn't break up anything haha. When I finally ended up loading up film (Fuji film iso 800 color) and took some craptastic shots on the parking lot and got it developed, everything came out right with NO light leaks, or any other problems.

PIC OF CAMERA:

PIC FROM CAMERA: World's most boring photo.
Fujifilm ISO 800, Industar 26M Lens.
2 Filters in photoshop: B&W and Unsharpen Mask: 125% Amount, 1.5 Radius, 1 Threshold
***THIS IS JUST A BAD JPEG FROM THE RITE AID CD I'VE RECEIVED WITH A NEGATIVE***

So I ended up with a beautiful looking camera and a great user camera as well!

Oldskewl808, there is nothing to be confused about; it's all in the thread. (page 1)

To recap, my source for pristine FSU cameras is Andrey, of Synoptics Camera Shop in Ukraine. (sells on Ebay under the name "hero4g") Andrey has the best quality, cleanest Russian cameras available anywhere; most are freshly CLA'd and even come with a three month warranty. (unheard of for cameras built half a century ago) He even covers any shipping back to him, should there be any problem.

The two cameras that I recently purchased truly look and perform like they are brand new. I highly recommend "hero4g" on Ebay for anyone looking to purchase only the very best quality vintage FSU cameras and accessories.
