Slightly off-topic, I find the frames (black line plus white band) a bit obtrusive. I am unsure whether it is used to try and make a dull picture stand out, or it really adds to the image. The former I think is often true –although I don't think these pictures are dull (but I do miss some foreground action) and thus you have no need of such a frame–, the latter I think is not true –it might help in presenting the image, but not in actually strenghtening it. Anyway, you clearly have your goal in adding the frames and I'd be happy if you would share it.

It's ok, everyone should use the border he wants to use.

For me as a darkroom printer the small border around the photo is black and then white.
With my film cameras I shoot fullframed and of course I use the whole negativ.
In the digital world I sometimes crop a little bit but again I use a small black and thicker white border.
I'm shure not every one likes that but like you I want to use my one style.
So I'm hapy about the grey background of RFF,
would it be white, no one would see my white border.

it's nice light but the coplors, esp. of the forest, are a bit weak! At least I am used to more of that green and beautiful browns.

I very much like the second one as it has a look of an Atkinson Grimshaw painting, such as Liverpool Quay by Night about it, with those lovely wintry tones.

bevor and after,
please note I've no special way to do that.
I take my LR tools and edit untill I like the photography,
the M8 files give me enough possibilities to do that.
And, of course, in the end I frame it with the white boarder.

Regarding the border, I can't see the white border because my RFF configuration has a white background. Anyways, the photos are great. Thanks for sharing.

Not weak, subdued. I like that kind of subtle rendering very much🙂

It is also great when there is no light (photographically speaking 😉)
