Arsenal is really the best evilbay seller, they have so many nice deals like this one.

Rather bizzare don't you think?
Price is kinda high especially cause it's in user shape with those brassings! 😀

I'm sure Leica got the wood for that model from a privately held mahogany forest in a secret south Asian location where all the trees were grown from seed and watered and tended by highly skilled third-generation whittlers wearing white lab coats.

Maybe someone will auction the original pressed sawdust model for Bessas at $110?

I don't think so. The wood almost certainly was grown in the vicinity of Wetzlar and the paint I happen to know, was left over paint from the pocket battleship Graf Spee. I cannot reveal how I obtained this knowledge.

Does anyone know how to block a particular seller from my search results?

I tried but couldn't figure it out.

Do these guys ever sell something sometimes? Their prices are so insane and it must cost them such an arm and leg in listing fees that I don't understand how they are still in business.

Nice haircut though, a bit 80's but nice 😀

I'll play the devil's advocate 😎 : these items are not for users like us but for collector. Whose collector could buy a wood M5 (surely a prototype from Solms) or a toy one (another prototype)? Photography museums for instance. Only museums or bank private collections can acquire this kind of stuff.
So don't pay attention to these ads, they're not made for you guys.

Now this one is interesting. I might think about purchasing it if I can sell my Gutenberg Bible quickly enough.

I'm curious-- has anyone here ever bought anything from Photo Arsenal?
Send me a PM before you list the Gutenberg here ... 😀

As to their sales, if you look through their feedback (98.5% positive, which is a bit low, I think, for their volume), you'll find that their sales are not nearly in that price range.

My own conclusion is that the very high price listings are a form of advertising. They probably sell some of those items direct (not through eBay) after attracting interest through the listing. They have their phone numbers and other contact information in the listings, so there is nothing preventing direct contact outside of eBay. Given the worldwide reach of eBay, this is cheap advertising.

It's been a while since I've done it but IIRC, you have to use the advanced search link. It has a lot of options including a text box where you can enter a list of all the names of any sellers you dont want to see, each name seperated by a comma.

This is true...but you have to save that search also.

I wanted to know the same thing (for this exact reason/this seller) a few weeks back. I searched the FAQs on the auction site and found that many people want to block certain sellers...due to bad experiences, abnoxious or questionable listings, etc. Well, the official consensus was that there is no easy way to block a seller while doing searches...No bit bucket or blacklist allowed by the site.😡The workaround presented by the FAQ is as dd mentioned above, with the addition of having to save the search.

Cheers,
AJ
