This photo appeared on a media site today reporting on a Moto-X meeting that was held over this last weekend at a track a couple of hours north of Brisbane.

Any guesses as to who the photographer might be! :p

if you had only placed your bag in front of you that poor motobicyclist wouldn't have had to get so much air to try to determine:
a)what kind of bag it was
b)whether you were following a one lens one camera policy
c)whether you were employing a two body colour/mono approach
d)to case or not to case
e)to neck strap or to hand strap
f) RF for wides OM for tele
g)etc..

Hope the shots came out well.

Is that the new day-glo vest that all photographers are required to wear in public places? Accompanied by the bloke walking ahead, waving the flag?

I actually found being able able to wander around the middle of a motocross track with a camera a real hoot! The organisers only requirement was a signature on a form and the pictured vest.

It also made me realise how good a camera the D700 really is at this sort of thing ... though I guess most high end DSLRs are in their element here. Definitely not rangefinder territory! :D

I considered getting a high-vis vest with "CAUTION PHOTOGRAPHER" on the back, I imagine no one would notice me then ... never got round to it, as with most things

I took around three hundred and fifty over saturday and sunday but I'm pretty sure this was at about that time.

Cool shot. Looks like it was a vintage motocross event, was it? I always have a good time shooting at the races.

You're right on ... it was vintage so consequently very relaxed with no big egos out there just guys having fun.

Amazing to see so many two strokes! :D
