I was very pleased with the first roll of color film I put through my scratched and worn Leica Summar 50mm. I used CVS 400 C-41 film and a Bessa R3a.

Yes, I agree. I bought an old Summar and Zorki 4K a few months ago. Not the lens to use wide-open, but in its range it is very nice. It's sharper than I expected based on what I've read, might have the best bokeh of any lens I own, and certainly has the most recognizable signature. The 3D quality of this lens also stands out. A fun lens, and a fun kit.

Nice pictures by the way. Thanks for posting.

These remind me of why I keep looking for a nice uncoated Summar I can afford. Thank you for sharing them.

nice photos, I remember the Summar selling for 16 dollars in the early 1970s from Wall Street Camera in NY.

I actually got this Summar for free. I purchased a Leica IIIa a few months ago and the seller was nice enough to "throw in" the Summar, a filter adapter (which I use as a hood), and two filters for free.

The IIIa was later traded for the Bessa R3a I now use.

Maybe my favorite photo ever, sunset, Summar wide open on ZI body. (I hope I uploaded this shot correctly, otherwise my humble and embarrassed apologies to the forum).

That is nice. Very nice. Is it in your gallery? I'd like to add it to my favorites if it is.

It certainly would be in my gallery if I had one, but I'm afraid I've never set one up. Anybody have a particular gallery they find better?
Thanks,
