On my Mamiya c220 I have a little sticker of Marvin the Martian's head on the front of my waist level finder.
It's small enough that most people don't notice it, but some people do, and I get a lovely smile.

Okay, so it's obviously a bad idea for stealthy street photography, but I thought it was a fun and cheap enough idea to give it a try. So, I recently purchased some Pez dispensers in holiday themes (Santa, reindeer, snowman) and plan on using them to take pics of my niece at Christmas. Will likely have to deal with the "grubby little hands reaching for the camera" problem, but she will at least be looking in the right direction.

With the puppet, people could hold you for something different than a child shooter. More like a child rapist really. :bang:

BTW, anyone know where to get Pez dispensers? Haven't seen these in oh some 40 years here in Holland (and I'm 35!). Saw my first and last in Mallorca in the mid 70s.

He'd bring his camera, some really bright lights and a teddy bear.

When he was all set up and we were getting well-grilled under his lights he'd bring out the bear just half a second before he took each photo and make us laugh.

In the USA, parents tell their children not to take candy, including Pez, from strangers. Puppets are just puppets. 😕

It works on adult as well. Once got my portrait taken. Photog calmed me down, put me under the bright lights, set up the camera and... whoohoo, out came teddy! Made me smile. 🙂

Once a woman who collected Pez asked her friend to design her a website to buy and sell her Pez dispensers with fellow enthusiasts.

When they worked out their business model and prototyped their site they reaised that people could buy and sell anything there.

They called their new site eBay...

(By the way there's still tons of Pez dispensers for sale there)
