Article here. Several issues discussed, including divergence of LR6 from Adobe CC features, update/installer issues, and security. Takes a few minutes to read. Recommended reading.

Many good point... As Thom Hogan states, the most pressing issues are security and stability. I'm not in love with the subscription model, but would be more at ease with it if I didn't have to worry about updating to a better product that won't open. It would be great if we were allowed to take our editing workstation offline.

Lynn .. Thanks for the link.

Interesting.

I use LR with perpetual license. I saw the announcement of new features and shrugged. Dehaze? Local area white and black point adjustments? Never needed them before, don't know what I'd do with them now.

I did upgrade to 6.1, looking for bug fixes that address a few of the bugs I've filed. The most important bug to me has not been fixed. Feh.

That's one reason I avoid the subscription model, when I can. I travel a lot with a laptop, and there are few things more aggravating than trying to download email and attachments from work over a crappy airport WiFi connection before the final boarding call, only to find your computer is tied up downloading and installing the latest AV-signature package, Windows security patch, or new iteration of Flash (with which Adobe always tries to slip in the Chrome browser, if you don't spot it and uncheck that box).

Only the Doomed select "update automatically."
