Thorsten Overgaard's ebook. Any opinions?

I highly, highly second the recommendation by yoyo22 to seek out Adam Morelli's website. www.adammarelliphoto.com. Classical composition rules are the key to understanding the great paintings of history. Henri Cartier Bresson's foundation classical training in art school. Once you realize the extent to which HCB's work is driven by composition, you start to understand what a genius he was.

Anarchy is different from Chaos.

You either use composition in your photos or you have chaos. You don't want to follow rules? Fine, but you need to know what the rules are before you reject them, otherwise you just have chaos. The world is entropic; it has far more "states of disorder" than order, and composition provides visual structure to your photographs.

Morelli's website did more to transform my photography than any other source, even more the Galen Rowell essays, which are wonderful for photographers of nature and landscape.
