The camera was (apparently) left in suburban Atlanta Georgia, not Manhattan or L.A. or Detroit
Southern "hospitality" and all that probably had people figuring that it would be nice to leave it there for folks - that and the fact that it's a disposable...
Neat idea though..

Bill, Epson V100 scanners suck!
Sorry, wrong thread. Yeah, a neat idea- glad to see that people took part in the experience without taking the camera. Not that folks in DC would steal it, but it would probably get vandalized in short order.

Kind of like Geocaching for those of us without GPS system.
Wonder what happens when it rains?

It gets wet?
Seriously, I suspect it would be hard to ruin the image quality of the fine output from this camera. It is pre-ruined!

I've seen worse phots from quality summicrons
This thing is neat indeed
Nice use for those piles of disposables that closing camera shops have...

We left disposable cameras in the NICU when our son was born. Most of the images were not usable (close focus on these cameras is about 4-5 feet) but some are real gems. I'll try to dig up the negs and do some scans.
Classically defined, disposables are fixed-focus prime lens rangefinders so this is the right place to discuss them.

Cute idea, and the results are a lot more interesting (and pleasing, look how happy they all are) than a lot of the street photography I've seen.
I've just had a quick look and there's some pretty inspired weirdness on that site. I like this:

Creative and neat idea, but you don't have the rights on the photos!

Kind of like a traveling camera on a short leash!
We used them 15 years ago at our wedding and got a few gems here and there.
Kodak has a higher end disposable with a better lens that is pretty good. I think there's an intersting market for disposables with fixed focus for up close too.
