I just received a Voigtlander 28mm Ultron I won from ebay and am quite impressed. The lens itself is heavier than I thought it would be, heavy in a quality sense. The focus is smooth and the apeture has positive half stops, more so than the 35 Summciron I used to own. Fit and finish is superb, if it didn't say Voigtlander I'd swear it was another "L" brand (this is my first VC product).
The lens came with a "tulip" shaped hood that fits securely and stays in place via a small thumb screw. I would think the screw might mar the lens barrel but it doesn't, the screw presses into an inner ring that secures itself around the barrel, very nice design.
46mm is the size of the filter mount, not real common but not as uncommon as say 40.5mm. At my local camera shop, I managed to find slightly used, a light yellow (one stop) and one red (3 stops), the latter will be nice for landscapes. The hood must be removed in order to install a filter, not really a big thing as this is common with most RF lenses anyway.
I was able to shoot a quick roll yesterday afternoon and noticed something about this lense, you really need to take a couple steps forward to fill the frame. I didn't realize how wide 28mm would be compared to 35mm, doesn't sound like much but it is.
Here are a couple pics of the lens on my M4-P, it fits good via a LTM 28-90 adapter, looks really nice and balances well in the hand.
I posted a few pics in my gallery, nothing special......... more to come.
