Three Cheers For Quality Light-Metric!

I returned George's phone call from last Saturday...he said the meters are ready and he'll ship them out today...That was fast...faster than I expected to hear from him and have them repaired...
I should get them by mid-week... :D

I have a Weston Master IV that needs repair; I have been delaying send it off since I have other meters. But this thread is a great reminder, so I guess I better get with it. The Minolta IIIF eats batteries and the Soligor 1deg spot makes people nervous!

When I got home today the meters had been delivered already...less than a week...not too bad...
I compared the two readings and am very happy with the results...
Now I just need to learn how best to use these meters...I'm mostly an "in camera metering-reading" kinda guy...other than when I shoot with the 4x5...but then I would also check with a Polaroid too...
Thanks for starting this thread...it got me off my butt and got two more meters back in service...:D:D:D

Had my Dads Pentax Spotmeter V and my Gossen Profisix repaired by George a couple of years ago, great service and very fast turn around, I think about 3 weeks all up, back to me in Australia.

I talked with George Milton @ Quality Light Metric this morning and my Weston Ranger 9 has been CLA'd and is ready to ship...
I had asked George to do a Battery Conversion and add a Zone VI dial...if he had one...
He said he had New Zone VI Dials but he also had a used one in great condition so I took that one...I also bought an Invercone Dome...
He said he would send it out today...

Thanks again to George for his fast and great service on our Light Meters...

I had two other meters serviced by QLM almost exactly two years ago...

Hi,
my MR4 is acting weird and I would like to get in contact with George of QLM. Does anyone have his email address, since I prefer emailing him rather than calling from Finland. Thanks in advance.

ps. I actually found one email address but I am not sure if it still in use...
georgepmilton@worldnet.att.net

Try it. Many analog technicians don't seem to use computers much though.

Nice to see one of Al's threads resurface...

If George still uses that email address then a more updated version would look like this...not too sure if he uses email...

georgepmilton@att.net

ATT changed their Dot-Net a few years ago as I used to have the same Worldnet service...

His phone #323-467-2265

thanks nikon_sam!
George replied and now I am going to send my mr4 to him for check and evaluation.
Just for everyone wondering his email is
georgepmilton@att.net
and he seems to use it, since i got an answer.
This is what he replied:
"Charge for repair of Leica meters vary from $88-$178 (labour&parts) depend of damage and parts, plus shipping.
Service time 2 to 3 days. "
I just put this here as info for those who wonder wheter contact QLM or not.
Thanks everyone for your help.

I sent another Weston Ranger 9 light meter to George at Quality Light Metric this week...
This was one that's been sitting in a drawer for the past year...I bought it for the case and had planned to get it fixed sometime...
Well, George has it now and I should have it back sometime next week in perfect working order...
Just wanted to give QLM a shout out for their great service and for continuing to service our gear...

Reviving an old thread...

I found one of my Weston Ranger 9 stopped working and sent both my 9's to George one for repair and the other a check-up...and also to make use they are calibrated exactly the same...
He checked them both out and adjusted where needed.
I got them back and the one in for repair was acting funking again...sent them both back and he just called to let me know the one is working perfectly...he had to replace a wire in it...
I'm glad we still have someone who knows what he's doing and has the parts to repair most Meters...
Thank you George...

I can echo the good remarks about George. He has repaired my Gossen LunaPro meter twice after being dropped twice and he repaired and calibrated a Leicameter MR for me. The repairs were fast and well done.
