Just what I need, another auction site. At least the proceeds from Goodwill auctions support a good cause. The Rice-a-Roni collectable ceramic salt and pepper shakers are going to look good in my kitchen too.🙂

and another picture. The meter appears to be unresponsive with a new battery. I still have to clean the battery chamber connections. Right now it works at all shutter speeds but only at wide open aperture f1.8.

truth be told, i prefer the little konica to the canonet 1.7
nice little camera, very solid and a great lens.

Can anyone give me any hints on how to solder that tiny wire back onto the battery chamber terminal? (I think my soldering gun is too powerful, and I may need some flux to get the solder to stick.)

Joe, I think I agree with you on the S3 vs QL17. I recently picked up a very nice condition S3 (thanks rover), and have been shooting it with my QL17. The S3 is smaller, the lens is a tad wider, and it even has a self timer. But, I do miss the manual override for exposure compensation. Either way, I tend to grab the S3 on the way out the door.

But, I've got a black 35CC on its way to me. I'd like to see how it compares.

(did anyone happen to notice I'm on a black RF buying spree. hope not. I don't want my addiction public 🙂 )

Yes, but the S3 has an exposure lock with 1/2 pressure on the shutter button - way faster.

It's alive!!! I had to use a battery chamber from a donor S3, but my $25 antique mall almost mint black Konica S3 is good to go.

Well, I've never had any luck at all at Thrift shops, but I've managed OK at flea markets. Between myself and a mate, over the last year we've managed Canonets, Ricohs, Voigtlander Vitos, a Contaflex, couple of nice Zeiss folders, Minolta Himatic, Olympus Trips. Nothing spectacular, but a raft of usable stuff for between $5 and $40.
Best pickups for me have been my (perfectly working) Weston Master II meter for $10, and a 1949 "Using the Leica" book for $25....

I still dream of finding someone selling "Grandad's old camera, it's been sitting in a box for years" for next to nothing, and finding a mint Leica IIIg. So far, it hasn't happened... 🙁
