Thumb Wheel Problem

I just wondered if anyone has had problems with their thumb wheel control?
Mine will not zoom in on the photo anymore and I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was done to repair it.

Occasionally my thumbwheel skips items in the menu list (I don't mean where they're grayed-out). It only happens when I first turn the camera on if I use the wheel. After that it doesn't do it. I think that's a mild form of what they call "mad scrolling". I've never used the LCD to review pictures, only to set menu items, so I don't know if it happens in review mode. Sorry.
