A new lens from Thypoch that looks like a lot of fun. 21mm f3.5 with coating that emulates the golden flares of classic 70s cinema lenses.

Phillip Reeves review is comprehensive. Make it clear the Italian flag color shifts at the sides are dreadful and it's only sharp outside the centre by f8.
Nah, I'm sticking with my Voigtlander 21mm f3.5. No colour shift and sharp all over.
Might be useful on film as a special effects lens but on digital it's rubbish. Sorry.

Also if I wanted a 21mm that's crap on digital I'd use my 21mm f4.5 C-Biogon, although it's fabulous on film and bloody good on a Monochrom.
I saw this review a while back and still think Bastion's right that using crap coatings as a selling point is a gimmick. Flare is one of the things that's a bugger to fix afterwards.

@trix4ever As much as I like the idea of the golden flares, I'm more likely to get the Voigtlander 21/3.5 if I want a very compact 21mm in M mount. I already have the Zeiss 21/2.8 anyway, but it isn't very good on mirrorless cameras. It's disappointing that Thypoch did not optimize this lens for M body sensors.
