Are there any fixes, other than taking the winder apart and adjusting the holding springs?
Anyone ever wrap fine sandpaper on a stick and mess with the inside diameter of the spool?
Of my 4 cameras, 2 of them I cannot remove with my fingers.

They are supposed to be a bit loose and perhaps they are hand fitted at factory. Someone moved them one camera to another. Someone tightened them with paper or other shims. Pull hard. Some kind of aftermarket or parts spool that was not fitted properly.

What kind of camera. Spring to grab the film or to hold the spool in camera. Hard to guess without more info.

I had this issue when I used a Soviet spool in a iiic. Shaving down the pins inside the spool worked for me - just a millimeters or two did the trick.

Yes, post full of info, right.
It is a Zorki-zorki, the springs grip the inside of the spool, and are in the winding-on shaft.
If ever I get all the cameras empty, I'm going a try a mix 'n match swap.
