I've had a 39 warming (KR 15) filter for a few years, that somehow got "loose" and the glass would rattle.

I looked very closely and could see that with a specialized filter spanner, there was some access, but not having any of these tools, I did the following:

Have the outside of the filter facing to the R like a wheel, use your thumb and middle finger with a clean microfiber cloth and hold the filter tight.

With your right hand, rotate the filter edge cw with your left hand firmly holding the center of the filter glass.

A couple of rotations should hold tighten it up, and your filter should be like new.

Fantastic, this tip made my day after I decided to buy a used B&W filter rather than a new cheaper one with the hope that having a higher quality filter would be worth the risk, only to discover when the filter arrived in the mail that the glass was loose. Well you can imagine what my wife had to say about that and even worse I had to admit she was probably right. Until I found this tip and tightened the glass so now it is as good as new, so thanks a lot!

What I am still not sure about though is if a BW filter "Made in Germany" really is better than a no-name filter made elsewhere and what the difference is apart from the price?
