During the latest site meltdown/database, I saw that posting was quite a challenge because the database yesterday, April 4, thought many of the messages had been posted up through the middle of the day April 5, so those "future" messages stayed on top of the threads.
This got me to thinking. If I visit as a guest, the time zone of the database seems to be Jorge and Joe's time zone in the western part of North America. But it I log on with my ID and password, the database picks up my actual local time, which can throw off the messages.
RFF is s global forum. It might make sense to give the database a default time of GMT so that display and message order remains consistent for everyone, especially those who sometimes travel.
I know nothing of the technical details behind the time display, so it might be more bother than it's worth.
