Well the temp. here in Adelaide S. Australia hit 40.5 c today the 13th day in a row the max peaked over the old 100f. and the 15th with a temp over 35c a new record for any Aussie capital city. So it's probably fair to say my cameras, other than a trip or two to the beach, haven't seen a lot of action in the last couple of weeks. Of course the problem of it being too hot to venture out is that you've left with too much time on your hands inside. Other than watching Fox the alternative is the net so I've caught up with everything on RFF and then begun exploring all the online photographic stores. This is a dangerous practice. It'a amazing how in a short period of time you can convince yourself that a piece of photographic equipment that you barely knew existed now is the missing piece in the puzzle of achieving Nirvana photographically speaking. "I need it, I must have it, I will have it." So an 18 mm Zeiss ZM Distagon is on it's way from Los Angeles to Happy Valley. The forecast for tomorrow is a cool 29C so the heatwave officially is over thank goodness, (as I've just discovered the Fogg website) ,so with a fall in temperatures hopefully things will go back to normal. Is this type of behaviour common in extreme weather conditions???

Probably a form of the "cabin fever" that I hear the folks way up north are more familiar with. Too hot to go far away from the air con. We've had a few hot ones here in Canberra - I know I'll be glad when winter's here.

Brisbane today ... cool (long pants and long sleeve shirt) cloudy and frequent showers! 😕

Developed a roll of film this afternoon and didn't have to put anything in the fridge to bring the temp down to 20deg.😱

Australia's weather is well and truly upside down at the moment. !!!!

Hi Alan. I am ex Happy Valley resident myself (well some years back) and am presently living in Canberra. But I have recently seen the error of my ways and am moving back to Adders soon. The only thing that is putting me off is the God awful weather you are having. But I am looking forward to the photography.

Last year here in Chongqing it was 44 C, this year they are expecting 45 and possibly a brief peak at 46 C. That would really suck. Most camera are rated to work up to 40 C and foam doesn't like the hot tempertures and 80% humidity of the Chongqing summers. Some of us may be pushing the limits of our cameras operating ability with this global warming thing eh?

I thought we had it bad here in Perth a couple of weeks ago but you guys in Adelaide have really been walloped over the last couple of weeks. Your record is not one to be pleased about settiing

Like ChrisN, I'm really looking forward to winter
