My recently acquired Leica IIIc needs the Rangefinder (beam splitter ?) repaired, and a good CLA. BTW, have tried the "filter cutout" in place of the small window closer to the eye with some benefit. OKARO are about $57 + shipping. The mirror replacement may be necessary.
Any recommendations and approximate cost ?

DAG is highly recommended by many here but I have to differ.. He's had my M3 since April and keeps putting off the service. Instead I'd send it to Sherry Krauter...

I have been more than happy with John Maddox, of L&J Camera Repair. So far he has done a CLA on two IIIc's for me. One of them involved a new shutter curtain. The camera is now smooth and trouble-free. And the price is right. Nothing against DAG or Sherry--but John deserves credit where credit is due, for excellent work at a great price.

You need to send it to Dean Williams ... period.
Find him at nelsonfoto.com.

Thanks, Raid.
Interestingly, I misspelt the site as 'photo', and found a mildly irritaed gentleman whoasked, "screwmount what ?" Needless to say, if you have to ask, it is the wrong number.
Also, nelsonfoto only 'links' the actual repair person, who is directly at deansphotographica.com
Will try him...

I second Raid's recommendation. Dean Williams turned around my Konica III in two weeks; his work is first-rate and his charges are very reasonable.
