being the neurotic soul that i am, i had my light meters out tonight and was checking them against each other.
turns out my luna pro is out by a stop when compared to the others.
the batteries check out ok still and they are mercury from varta. they came with the meter.

i got a very good deal when i bought the luna pro (locally) and i quite like using it despite it's size, so it's worth it to me to send off to john.
he did a great job on a non working metrastar, brought it back to glorious life, and it's the one i will start using again now. it's smaller than the luna pro but just as rugged.

anyway, with the rff photo contest in mind i want an accurate meter on hand.

That's the problem with owning two meters! If you only had one, you'd have been perfectly happy, and just learned to adjust your shooting or your developing!

I think my VCII is consistently about 1/2 stop over, compared with my QLM-calibrated Weston Master V.

mark, i think the outcome is pretty much assured.
john milton is qlm and he did a great job on my other meter.
i had the metrastar out for this morning's street shoot and it was fine (and it may be easier to use than the luna pro and the size is better)
most reports suggest a cost of about 70 bucks is average.
