Time out error messages...several times per day

Can anyone explain why I am returned time out errors when attempting to connect with the server? This happens every day and often several times per day. It's fairly annoying. Thank you
 
I am guessing but I would say the server is overloaded. It costs money to run this site. The good news is that it is a popular meeting place. The bad news is that the popularity may be slowing it down. It is easy enough to click on "Reload" which is what I do. This is a stellar board.
 
Seems most likely to happen in the evening, and perhaps coincidentally, often about 5 minutes past the hour. Waiting a few minutes and trying again loads the page ok.

I haven`t timed it precisely but evening time (UK) seems to be the most prevalent time .
It`s certainly frequent enough to have become almost a feature of the site as far as my usage is concerned .
 
It is a minor inconvenience. I would give a lot for it to be the biggest problem in my life.
 
I enjoy this site , but these frequent slow downs do send me else where . Just not enough idle time I guess . Peter
