Time to fireup the ole MP

You can't get more backwards than going from an M8 to an MP3...EXCELLENT, that's real progress!!!

Well, I've always wanted an M3 and I think part of that want was the distinctive design the M3 has. Not to mention I am a sucker for Black Paint lenses.

You got the Black Paint then?

Black paint all the way. As soon as I get home I'll develop some film and post a camera and tea shot.😉

It's good to read this Jorge -Having spent days and days scanning my film negs i did a bit of a U turn in the last few days and cancelled my M8 order and purchased a brand new Fuji TX2 (Xpan II) to work alongside my MP and other M bodies......

after that its baked bean or thai rice and chicken for a few months.....😀

The 50 f1.4 Asph. is worth every single tin of sardines I had to open and consume ever since I bought it 😎 Enjoy Simon! (The lens I mean).

With all the talk of the M8 these days, for me it's either the M6+film or go completely over to Canon d-SLR 😡

M6+b&w film+couple lenses and then just get a canon P&S dor $300-400 as the color camera 🙂 That's about the point I'm at.

*cough*for vlad*cough*

Alkis those sardines are sounding good already.....

The 50 lux Asph is by fat my best performing lens. It yields sucha unique image that it is hard to beat.

Jorge, from what I remember you have the chrome MP so you probably have the Chrome lens as well. IMHO opinion the chrome and black paint lenses are of higher quality feel in my hands then the anodized equivalents. I have 50 Summilux ASPH anodized and now the 50 Summilux ASPH BP. The focus is much smoother on the BP and the f-stop ring is smoother as well. Better quality feel to it in general. Wish it had the built in hood like the 90 Summicron BP. I think I see a 35 Summicron BP in my future when this next job is complete.

Now I have 2 hours to go looking for shots before having to visit the doctors office for shots. Have to get all my shots for traveling back down to South America.

I like the regular black lenses. They are lighter. That one attribute is more important than enything else to me. I have just one silver lens and that is the 24/2.8 ASPH. The % difference in weight is about the closest among the modern Leica lenses so I took the silver just to have one silver lens. It does feel different to the black version.

Sorry for teasing about your signature...

Will anyone try the extended sensitivity in B&W. The colour cast problem does not look extreme for people who normally use a filter for rain protection. Will Erwin Putts report on the lens performance in IR, e.g. presumably the apo lens will perform well?

I can see why the caste shows on black - black materials will generally have higher IR emissivity, i.e. more IR photons but wont have as many visual photons, white materials will swamp the fewer IR photons with more copious visual red.

Well, if you encourage people to use film, then why use the incorrect word "analog camera"?

It's film camera, designed for film. 🙂
