Tin types from Afghanistan

The thought of doing tin types in the comfort of your own home is daunting (at least for me).
The thought of doing tin types in the field on the other side of the world is beyond the scope of my imagination.
I tip my hat to the photographer/soldier.

I echo that!! Beautiful work. Clearly captures the "grit" of a combat zone.

From a technical perspective, I see the text in 14 (standing with a pistol) and 17 (dark-skinned guy sitting down) are reversed like I'd expect them to be in a tintype. In number 16 (medic guy with a baseball hat) his letters are not reversed. Why is that? I'm only loosely acquainted with the process.
