I was watching a documentary on the departed Yugoslav honcho Tito, when a late 1950s film clip appeared , showing him using a black S2 or S3 Nikon with a short tele lens. No Kiev will do for this communist.

Well Tito never was a REAL communist!

But what I really want to know - did he have a rear lens cap for his 5.0cm/1.4f? 😀

Didn't Tito play for the Cleveland Indians? Oh wait, that was Francona.

Yeah, he was a decent ball player - but did he have a Nikon S-series or was he one of those Leican Indians?

Opps, oh, oh - let's not foget Tito Puentes - blew a mean horn and was likely not a communist! 😀

So was the porn king John Holmes!

So was the porn king John Holmes. Somewhere "a friend of mine" has a vintage porno movie from the 1960's with swingin' John as photographer. He's using a Nikon rangefinder, getting it on with a lovely camera-lover.

Okay, now lets get this straight. Tito was a communist leader of a country that no longer exists who shot a Nikon S-series rangefinder while playing for the Cleveland Indians (under the last name aliias of Francona) and also was leading a Latin jazz band (under the last name of Puentes) while also shooting - or producing -or perhaps starring - or even doing all three with multiple partners in 1960's-era porno flicks with or maybe without tele or perhaps wide lenses.

Anything else Tito's been up to? 😀

"No Kiev will do for this communist."

Tito wanted nothing to do with the Soviet Bloc. Belgrade had very chilly relations with Moscow, so it would be unlikely he would have sought any Soviet goods.

neat photos, have you got more pics of Tito with " camera" ?

I also seen pics of Nikita Khrushchev with a Hassy and an M Leica, seems he was also a big photo buff. ( no Soyouz/Kiev MF and Zorki 35mm cameras for this communist either).

no, don't tell me Khrushchev was also not "a real communist ."

"Tchaikovsky was a homosexual but thats not the only reason we love him"

so

"Tito was a nikon rf user but thats not the only reason we love him"

Neat stuff to know.
When I was still living in Iraq, I one day visited the Women's Association and its photo lab. I was shocked to find dozens of new Hasselbald cameras "thrown around" on the tables. These people had more money to waste than they could manage, with the billions in oil revenue that the people of Iraq never enjoyed during Saddam Hussein's rule. As for these days, ... I guess, there are no Hasselblads left.

Is that not enough?
Never underestimate a Slovene! (He was only half Serb).

Tito Punte was a percussionist! No "s". For shame!
