I have a Rolleicord III that I inherited from an uncle about ten years ago, I had wanted a Rollei TLR for a long time, but the price always put me off, but I ended up his! It needed servicing, and after that it has worked very well for me. I usually shoot B&W with it, and I've made some great looking 16X20's.
Excellent lens, despite the age!!
Also, according to some info I found on the internet, it is a very early Rolleicord III, as the serial number is "111" above the starting number for this series.

I now have a nicely covered Rolleiflex, so it's usable again. I REALLY liked the results from the Rolleicord III when I photo'd Rich though.

I once purchased a Yashica MAT 124G in an Air Force exchange at a close out price of $40. It was a special order item that the customer did not want. New in the box! I traded it to a local camera dealer for credit on some Nikon gear. As well as I can recall he gave me $80 for it. One of those actions that is regretted in later life. Years later at the same base I purchased a Mamiya C330 at a surplus auction for $70. After a CLA it was a good user. It was destroyed when a car came through a wall of our house. The camera was thrown from a book shelf through the opposite wall of the room. The insurance settlement was quite generous. I bought more Nikon SLR gear including an FE2 which I still have.

I have a couple (Rolleichord Va and Yashica 124 - not G). I usually use them when I wish to use medium format, but at the same time wish to keep a low profile.
The old Rollei has a super taking lens though speeds below one fifteenth have become a little unreliable, however I believe this is fairly easy to fix. The Yash, which works flawlessly, has a decent lens also, but I must say that the Rollei's lens is noticeably sharper, consequently the old Rollei is my primary TLR.

A Yashicamat 124 gave me very nice results and introduced me to the slower pace of picture taking allowed by screen view images. Now bought a C220 and a bunch of lenses 65 to 180mm which are shaping up to be the system of choice for my more serious work. All as cheap as chips, don't you just love this digital age?

Rolleiflex, which I would use more if the screen was brighter. Hope to replace it someday; Planar lens renders lovely "oldfashioned" images.

I just took return delivery of the most expensive Yashica Mat 124G on the planet. I bought it a few years ago for a decent price and fell in love. After some use I decided to send it off for a CLA, it never hurts to care for a camera. I sent it to Mark Hama for the service. Shortly upon return the advance got inconsistent, Mark repaired that free of charge as follow up to the CLA. Well, then I used the self timer, shouldn't do that. Shutter jammed. I had it hanging around for a while until sending it off to KEH for the shutter repair, and I had them install a Beattie Intenscreen. Much better than the original. The meter is accurate and I will never use the self timer again, and hopefully the advance mechanism hangs in there and.....

Well I really like the camera. Replacing the screen will be a big boost to its use.

I just purchased two. A yashicamat and Rolleiflex . I have yet to receive the yashica but the rolleiflex is in superb shape. It has the 75mm 3.5 tessar ( i think ) and I cant wait to run a few rolls through it and learn to develop film ;-)

My first MF camera was a Mamiya C220 w/ 80 2.8 and 180 3.5 lenses. At that time I was shooting a lot of Verichrome Pan, because it was the cheapest film locally available, and processing in D-76 on the advice of the local photo store clerk. I fell in love with big negatives and didn't return to 35mm in a serious way until recently. I bought each of my boys a Yashica 124G, and still use them occasionally, when I want a square print, but my favorite MF outfit remains my RB67.

Bailed out on TLRs, came to RF

Bailed out on TLRs, came to RF

I'm selling my Rolleicords (on wEpay) because I just don't use them. Mostly because I never felt at ease with waist level finders. But damn I love medium format film image quality! So, I've ordered a Fuji GW690 from KEH.

I have been thinking for a long time that I'd like to go the other way... Buy a Rolleiflex to keep my 'cord Va company :) In the end I got overwhealmed by the choice and turned down a mint 2.8 E2 that I would have loved to own. It was on the $$$ side so considering the amount of use it would get it was a reasonable decision. One day...

I almost forgot about my other 'cord... The old dear on the left is a shelf queen that I had once planned to restore. It is in working condition & the lenses are clear, but the old focussing screen is just too dim to be usable.

I have a rolleiflex 3.5 that my stepfather bought in Tübingen Germany in 1956. Beautiful, sharp, and there is nothing like looking through a ground glass viewfinder:D
