I rarely use Diafine to push Fomapan 1 stop. Where I live ISO 100 is a F16@125th 90 percent of the time. So now I have some TMax 400 and a use for it. My confusion arises because Diafine rates TMax 400 as a ISO 500 film vs the Kodak info sheet for TMax 400 says a 1 stop push requires no additional development time. So should I just rate it at ISO 800 and develop normally with XTOL???

Short answer: yes.

Detailed answer: a tiny bit more development, like 5% or so, can help. Xtol is the best until you need a serious push.
