whites seem to sparkle in TMax 400 in a way I don't see with Tri-X (Andy's photo of the goose above is a good example)

Yes, I think it has a larger tonal scale than TriX, therefore it has a richer appearance. TriX is more graphic, like an B+W photo in an old newspaper.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but someone above said something about a difference between TriX and TMY (-2). TMY (-2) is for excellent tonal values, but more important it is for sharp images. In the beginning it was for studio B&W photos that were very sharp and landscape photography. Now it is used as a general use film. But I'm sorry I still have a few problems with it, example: muddy images on non 'sunny 16' images (roll film). I still believe TriX does this better in that respect (with roll film).

We should be posting images here that show its strengths: sharpness and tonal range.

It's a fantastic image. I would say keep posting it 🙂 . Many of mine have been posted previously as well.
It seems beneficial to collect images with these nice films in one place.
Many people use it in different ways and good results.

Your images are always beautifully crisp and refined. I am more of a general purpose user.
Other find tri-x to be their most flexible film. I like Tmax 400. I rate it from 100-1600 and get results I'm satisfied with.
