Superb range of tones, Steve. You have all the blacks, and the highlights are fantastic, bright and yet fully detailed. The images are both hard and soft at the same time. It’s something that I notice about all your photos. I suspect that this may come from your developing technique, that you mentioned elsewhere, of a delay of three minutes between agitations. Anyway, whatever the technique, great pictures!

I forgot to mention to, that as well as the deep blacks your images have such good shadow detail at the same time, and the midtones are all there, gently merging into each other. To my mind, these two pictures and your other work represent the finest and defining examples of a full and pleasing tonal range. It’s certainly what I aim for myself although for the time being I have to rely on a lab to process and print my films. They use XTOL 1:1 with Kodak’s recommended agitation (whatever that is) and I’m very pleased with the results, especially with T-max 400, but they’re not up to your standards!

Anthony, Thank you so much for your comments. I do strive for a long tonal range, although I must also fess up to making small adjustments in post-processing (LR, in my case). But the TMax/HC 110 combo works well, IMO.
