Hallo,

I have an offer for M2, serial number 1050-XXXX, cosmetically it's user condition, some scratches, leather missing on two places, viewfinder is clean and bright, rangefinder aligned, rewinding as far as I can judge it, smooth. The shutter times might be a little off and there is take-up spool missing (though the seller might eventually provide one). The price is $400. So..what do you think?

Yes, probably 1050-XXX, didn't know how many digits the SN has :) Well, I don't if I will get the price down to $300, but I can at least try :)

Congratulations on the M2. Whether it's $350 or $370, it's a good deal. Every time I think of selling mine to help pay for an M6, I look at it and say to myself, "why?" It's all I really need/want - it's simple, dependable, solid. I don't really like meter lights in the viewfinder anyway! Perhaps I don't need that M6 after all.;)

I too lurk on a M6 for some time now but I just can't sell my M4 and M3... Maybe all I need is a M2 ;p

So...I have got it! It is a beauty for sure, but you know that.

But regarding the spool - I have tried the spool from my Zorki 4 and it looks like it could fit! I have not tried it with film yet, but do you think that it could actually work? At least I cannot damage anything in the camera with it, can I?

Put in the Zorki spool and see if the winding on works correctly. Then try -- but without force -- to replace the base plate. If you can get it on, all should be well.
