i have a CL with a dead light meter.
i am fine shooting without a meter so this is just a whim.
should i revive the meter?

I have a CL with dead rangefinder and prefer not to fix it - the cost in Luton camera repair would be higher than the price of the camera. Again, that is just a whim: with 3.5 cm W-Nikkor 1:2.5 there is no need for rangefinder focusing.
On the other hand, if the repair cost for light meter is not prohibitive, I would choose to fix it.

i guess it would ok to fix but on the other hand i will never sell this camera. so i guess i would only fix it if my son would be lazy and not learn the sunny 16.
