Why?
You still have a P no?

I think she unloaded the P to get the Nikon.

I'm with Rover, except that I don't think bottom loading is very hard. I can load my M3 without looking. It certainly doesn't seem like something that one must buy a practice camera to get used to doing.

The M3 and M2 are a whole different world from the LTM bottom loaders. I actually prefer Leica's current bottom loading to a hinged rear door loading, but on an LTM camera, Leica or Canon, I am all thumbs.

No, she unloaded a J-12 to get the Nikon. I should know, cause it's mounted on my Canon 7.
Steph, I tend to agree with Rover & Melanie. Save for the M2 and don't bother with the bottom loader. If you must, however, buy a FED or Zorki straight from Fedka or Oleg unless you get a deal from someone here.

My M5s need red dots!
Stephanie, you just have a bad case of GAS. Bottom loading doesn't require that much practice. Besides, once you get your M2 you'll acquire the practice with a camera with which it'll be important and useful, and not with an FSU body that won't get much use afterwards.
Hence, I agree with Rover and Melanie and Captain Slack. Save all your pennies for your dream camera. In the meanwhile, practice a more relevant skill: your eye-meter!

Is this the same Stephanie Brim who was posting just last month that she was so over GAS and is perfectly happy with the cameras she has? ;-)
Oh, well, nice to know she's been dragged back into the materialist swamp with the rest of us...

You know what they say -- 'GAS loves company...'
