Having indugled in a DSLR -

To wit - a Pentax K10d ...

i guess i was wooded by by it's compatibility with an humble ex-Zenit I 50 ... but have yet to aquire the two adapters required !

Twit ?
Not to be '' wude '' , I can't make head nor tail of the list of lenses which are or are not compatible with all the metering modes ! I am also struggling with underexposure , and flat images in camera , but they come to life with little i-photo tweaking [ total sophistication what ? ! ]

However I shall persist -'' once more unto the beach ... '' except that I live in town - Oh well - '' once more to the field of endeavour '' ...

Lenses with an "A" setting (i.e. SMC-A or later) are compatible with all exposure and flash modes. Those without (i.e. SMC-M or earlier) only meter in spot or centre weighted and you need to use the metered manual mode (in which pressing the green button will have the camera stop down the lens and meter the aperture currently set on the lens).

I take it the Zenit lens mentioned is a M39 mount one (hence the two adaptors M39->M42 & M42->K)? I have tried that although I do use M42 lenses with my K10D quite often.

There's nothing wrong with what you do, Dee. I dood it too.

K10D with Century Precision Tele-Athrnar 300mm f/3.2 for the annual backyard bird count next weekend. Gotta watch where I step, Dee.
