Noel, you are in the minority. I found it a pain to try and decifer; so I just gave up. Learning to write involves following the basic notions of composition. People don't like to waste much of their time guessing at text.

Agree. I gave up trying to read what he 'wrote'.

Good going DSK!

I just acquired a wartime Summitar (for kinda free) this weekend ;)

I turned the 1946 IIIC body for the same price I paid for it with the lens.....
(posted it online today for some other photograoher friends at my portfolio site and it was SOLD in less than 3 hours! - very kool :)
I made someone happy too this weekend)

I really didn`t need another SM body right now at the moment, but I did want to find a decent Summitar of the right era to work with it`s a 1943 it has been factory coated, it`s clean with no wipe marks or fogging, but it does have a few minute specks in it, but when you shine a fashlight through it, it`s bright and clear, I`m curious to see it`s performance

There`s only one problem and that`s the aperture ring feels like it`s stuck in the mud...... :(

So I`m going to leave it at f2.0 f2.2 and shoot away in a "wide open" lens test and post the results as soon as I have one of my pinup`s free to shoot some portraits :)

You guys have got to be kidding me. You really have nothing better to do then complain about the informal structure of the OPs posts? If it's too mentally challenging for you, simply move on to someone else's post. You know, something with an extremely rigid and non-flexible structure so that you needn't exercise that right side of your brain.

I guess it's safe to assume that none of you enjoyed Virginia Woolf or James Joyce's works. Stream of consciousness writing would give you guys headaches. Shame.

Oh, and your misspelling of the word "decipher" didn't annoy me a bit. :D

i get more complaints about my spelling and punctuation than my photos. so i figure im in the clear. i punctuated ,, but i still refuse to capitalise :D anyway i got the summitar cleaned its a great lense for portraits of women ,, but i will still be using my 40 nokton and 75 heliar more its going to be a long time before will get to see the quality of newer generation leica glass ,, i cant imagine its much better than the c/v glass or the T* lenses i use on my hasselblad the IIIg is very cool when it fires but the rewind/advance lever is loose and kinda seems to wiggle out of place and goes to a bulb setting if its not in the right place im getting it serviced soon thank you all sorry for the spelling and punctuation as usual
