There is no change on the Leica Page that should enable us to register the camera. It is well into the day in Germany although it is not even 7:00 AM PST in CA. Was is passiert, meine Herren? :bang:

Leica is supposed to let M8 users register on the web page to arrange for the hardware fix and to order two free IR cut filters of their choice.....

I know someone getting their new fixed M8 on Fri. However, I am stillwaiting for more details from Leica regarding mt M8.

Thank you for the link, skimmel. It seems that the registration is more geared towards the two IR cut filters that Leica will provide free of charge. Not a word about the repair fix of that faulty circuitry. Somehow, I expected that to be included and/or explained, like how the repair can be arranged, etc. Maybe Leica will contact me in the next several days and they will arrange for the camera to be shipped back to Solms? I am just sitting tight, I guess...

I dunno but it looks to me like we're still at the point where anyone who buys an M8 now can still consider himself an "early adopter". If I were still interested in an M8 (that went south with Leica deciding to go with the filters) I'd still wait another six months before taking the plunge. By then the filters should be in stock, including the B+W which are bound to be cheaper than Leica's "own".

Those of you who registered on or around December 6th - Has Leica contacted any of you already regarding the hardware repair? Thanks!

No communications, not even to my two dealers.
