Is the woman on our right a gaijin? The last time I was there I was astounded how many tourists were in Japan generally compared to 30 years ago. Beautiful jawline. I like the way photography grabs these sorts of small details.

Hi Marty,

Yes, she's a foreign visitor. The number of foreign visitors in the Asakusa area was mind blowing. In Kapabashi they easily outnumbered the Japanese people; many of the shops employ young Japanese speaking foreigners to help with the customers. My wife and I stepped into a visitors information station to get a walking map and the girl working the counter was a young American that spoke exquisitely fluent Japanese and was most helpful. It's a whole new world over here!

All the best,
Mike

I've spent quite a few months in Japan. The last time in Tokyo before flying home from an off-piste ski holiday in Hakuba.
