I didn't really meet Tom A in person but on the phone, he was fantastic guy. I will definitely miss him.

+1 to some awesome Softies. They work really well compared to practically every other soft shutter button I've tried.

Hmm,

I emailed Tuulikki a while ago and got on the list to receive one of these when they became available. Are they available now?

Arrived!

A very classy classic softie. Its no replacement for the real Tom A. but I'm glad to have a little bit of his memory on my M2 -- my most cherished M2.

Plan to order another for my other M soon.

Order soon! They are close to selling out in classic M.

Just showed up. Installed one of the two on my Df. Echo Joe's and others sentiments above, and hats off to Tulllikki in gearing up so quickly for this effort.

For Trident Kiwi, softies are really buttons which screw into the shutter releases of certain cameras. Enables a much gentler shutter release. I am late to this history, but as I understand Tom Abrahamsson had designed and sold various soft releases for a while.

Hi, RFF buddies,

I just put order for 2 Tom A softies. And from the email of Tuulikki, I heard there are still few available. So be quick to grab before they are finally sold out.

Cheers,

Thanks for that reminder Robin (roundg), I just ordered 2 of them. I can't wait to use them all over the world. Honestly, whenever Leica guys ask me about cases, bags, straps etc..., I always tell them IMO the most important accessory is a soft release because I am a 100% film shooter and I often shoot wide open in low light situations and the shutter release helps me out so much.

When I first started using them I would occasionally lose them, but over the last couple of years I have gotten much better with them and now I sort of have a system in place which keeps me from losing them.

cheers, michael

Hi, Michael,

Glad to hear that you are going to get yours. My order just arrived yesterday and they are in very high quality and elegant.

BTW, I put one on my MDa to which a SA21 is permanently attached.

Best Regards,
Robin
