Dear Tom,
Ive noticed in a few photo's you've posted of Nikon camera's, you are using small rope/cord straps?

Did you make these yourself?

I could have sworn one looked like clothes-line with a bit of heat shrink tubing and a couple stitches.

These straps are made by Takahashi-san at Lumiere camera in Tokyo - "ramjee" on Flickr. He makes them from the "cables" used to raise and lower curtains in theatre's. Fixed length - very flexible. Works well on a lighter camera - hence why I use them on my Nikon's. Comes in black or white. Heavier cameras and or lens combinations can stress your neck a bit though. But for a Nikon or M2 with a 35/50 medium speed they work very well - and don't really "tangle" themselves in things in the bag.

I think I will try to make a "clone" of your nice strap.
Ive had an itch to sew some leather all weekend, and I have a gorgeous slab of chocolate leather that came in a month or so ago. I'll take a trip to the hardware this evening for a stretch of black paracord.

I can imagine, there may be some copper wire holding the loops in tight?
Will see what I can come up with! Thanks for the quick response!

That looks really good. The leather compliments the white strap too. You could probably sell quite a few of these to the RfF crowd as straps come a close second to bags when it comes to GAS!

Thanks! I really enjoyed making it.
I do have a fair amount of cording left, and a night off!
I think I will make a few more, and try the classifieds!
